Job summary

Enable Group is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our client’s West Sussex team. The role blends senior technical delivery, project management and mentoring, overseeing a portfolio of ground investigation projects for residential, commercial and industrial schemes.

The successful candidate will lead geotechnical investigations, produce reports, manage budgets, and provide guidance to junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree (ideally Master’s) in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in geotechnical consultancy or site investigation.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, geohazards, slope stability, earthworks and retaining structures.
• Proven ability to manage geotechnical investigations and report production.
• Ability to supervise projects and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Our client, a well-established and highly respected ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy, is looking to appoint a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team based in West Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist looking to take on a senior technical and supervisory role within a growing consultancy delivering projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in a wide range of projects from small-scale developments through to major multi-million-pound schemes. The role will combine technical delivery, project management and mentoring responsibilities, providing support and guidance to junior staff whilst overseeing your own portfolio of work.
