Wheely, a premium transportation scale-up, seeks a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer to design and ship high-quality backend services in Go. You will work on the Mapping team, focusing on road matching, ETA predictions, and scalable microservices on AWS/Kubernetes.

Join a Go-focused stack with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, gRPC, and Thrift, while migrating from Ruby monoliths. Hybrid role with relocation support for the right candidate.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services (5+ for seniors).
• Go is required; other languages (Python, C++, Ruby) accepted if fundamentals are strong.
• Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka).
• At least 1 year of hands-on mapping/geospatial work (map-matching, routing graphs).
• English at least B2; able to discuss technical trade-offs with peers.

• Implement new microservices while migrating away from legacy services.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data scientists to turn requirements into designs.
