Evan Craig Limited in the West Midlands seeks a Senior Geologist / Geo-Environmental Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer to lead ground investigations and provide expert geological logging and reporting. The role blends site and office work within a supportive Midlands team.

You will mentor junior staff, supervise engineers and geologists, and contribute to project delivery while developing technical and managerial skills in a growing SME.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology / Earth Science / Geoscience or equivalent from a UK University.
• Minimum 5-6 years track record in ground investigation focusing on geological reporting and logging.
• Self-motivated individual contributor with good team player skills.
• Good project management skills and ability to train junior staff.
• Computer literacy including geotechnical software (OpenGround, HoleBase).
• Full UK Driving license (manual transmission).

Responsabilités

• Examine and cross check geological logging, field testing and field mapping records.
• Plan detailed field investigations by drilling and analysing samples of deposits / bedrock.
• Supervise site and ground investigations.
• Visit new project sites.
• Make recommendations on proposed site use and provide information.
• Advise on subsidence, coal mining and contamination issues.
• Manage staff, including engineers, consultants and contractors.
• Provide quotes to clients.
• Attend professional conferences and represent the company at events.
• Deliver quality geological logs / records and reports.
• Provide technical guidance to junior geologists and reporting staff.
• Promote QHSE to staff.
