Job summary

The Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford invites an experienced Event Delivery and Genotyping Manager to lead molecular event confirmation for transgenic and gene-edited crops. You will drive assay strategy, QC, and data packages, connecting transformation, tissue culture, greenhouse, vector design, bioinformatics and trait teams to deliver robust, ready-for-downstream use events.

Qualifications

• PhD in Plant Biotechnology or related discipline or MSc with significant industry experience.
• At least 5–7 years in plant biotechnology, genotyping, or event advancement.
• Proven track record with gene edited or transgenic crops.
• Experience designing and interpreting molecular assays for event confirmation.
• Strong project and vendor management skills.
• Experience with ELN/LIMS, data integrity and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead event delivery workflow from transformation to handover to teams.
• Design, validate genotyping assays for transgenic and edited events.
• Apply endpoint PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, KASP, Sanger, NGS for event support.
• Collaborate with Vector Design and trait teams for assay plans.
• Develop stage-gate criteria and decision frameworks for events.
• Coordinate sample collection, DNA extraction, plate maps and barcoding.
• Analyze edit outcomes and molecular QC with bioinformatics teams.
• Own event inventory, genotype data capture and dashboards.
• Manage external genotyping and sequencing service providers.
• Create SOPs, templates, QC guides and handover docs.
