Basecamp Research is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Genomics team in London. You will define data needs, establish ground truth, and validate our foundational models with rigorous evidence.

You will reason from evolutionary-scale data to human therapeutic context, performing sequence analysis, alignment, and comparative studies while ensuring reproducible, containerized workflows.

Qualifications

• Data-curation focused for life-science AI projects.
• Experience with models, validation, and dataset quality.
• Strong software practices for reproducibility, version control, and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define data requirements for model training and evaluation.
• Design robust evaluation metrics and baselines.
• Fine-tune and evaluate genomic or protein models with quality datasets.
• Reason about biological meaning from wide-scale data to therapeutic context.
