Balfour Beatty plc's Power Transmission & Distribution division seeks a Senior General Foreman to lead multiple site teams across the UK, delivering overhead line projects safely and efficiently.

You will plan operations, allocate resources, ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, and drive productivity while modelling a Zero Harm culture and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

  • CSCS Card required or equivalent
  • SMSTS (or equivalent) required
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Desirable: Lift Supervisor
  • Desirable: First Aid at Work

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary OHL gangs across projects and locations
  • Ensure delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to high quality standards
  • Plan daily site operations and allocate resources to maximise productivity
  • Oversee risk assessments, method statements, permits and safety systems of work
  • Monitor progress and escalate risks or delays
  • Maintain accurate site records, timesheets, QA documentation and reports
  • Support engineers and project teams with plant, materials and logistics coordination
  • Promote Zero Harm and a strong safety culture

About the role

Due to continued growth across our Overhead Lines (OHL) portfolio, we are looking to recruit an experienced Senior General Foreman to support the expansion of our Power T&D business across a variety of locations throughout the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects, leading multiple site teams and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of OHL works including maintenance, refurbishment, new build and dismantling activities

What you'll be doing

As a Senior General Foreman, you will:

  • Lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary OHL gangs across various projects and locations
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
  • Plan daily site operations, allocate resources and drive productivity
  • Oversee risk assessments, method statements, permits and safety systems of work
  • Monitor progress against programme and elevate risks or delays
  • Maintain accurate site records, timesheets, QA documentation and reports
  • Support the Engineer and wider project team with plant, materials, and logistics coordination
  • Lead by example, promoting Zero Harm and a strong safety culture
Who we're looking for

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience working as a General Foreman / Senior Foreman within OHL or utilities environments
  • Strong experience in leading site teams and managing multiple gangs
  • A solid track record of delivering projects safely and efficiently
  • Excellent knowledge of HSEQ requirements and safe systems of work
  • Ability to organise teams, materials, and plant to maximise productivity
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
