Job summary

Aztec Financial Services (UK) Limited is seeking a Senior Associate (Band 2) to advance fund accounting expertise and lead client interactions. You will develop subject matter expertise, contribute to process improvements, and mentor newer team members to support Aztec's ambitions.

You will manage accounting for a portfolio of fund structures, apply complex LPA requirements, and assist with audit queries while maintaining internal controls and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounting for fund structures and related calculations.
• Ability to interpret complex LPA requirements in accounting processes.
• Experience supporting audit queries and coordinating with clients.
• Mentoring junior staff and leading client calls.

Responsibilities

• Complete accounting for a portfolio of fund structures and carry calculations.
• Interpret complex LPA requirements within accounting workflows.
• Assist with audit queries and ensure timely responses.
• Lead regular client calls and correspondence with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work for accuracy.
• Ensure internal control frameworks are followed and records are maintained.
• Maintain records on internal systems and Excel workpapers.
• Prepare and reconcile tax returns where relevant.
• Support fund administration processes as required.

About the role:

As a Senior Associate (Band 2), you will be responsible for developing your expertise, building meaningful relationships and taking ownership for outcomes. This will be achieved through growing subject matter expertise, contributing to process improvements and offering insights based on experience. You will be open-minded and embrace change whilst valuing diverse perspectives and channelling a 'can-do' attitude. You will support business and people growth, contributing towards team initiatives and mentoring newer team members, to enable Aztec's future ambitions.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the accurate preparation of equalisation and carry calculations
• Interpret and apply more complex LPA (Limited Partnership Agreement) requirements to accounting processes
• Provide assistance with completion of more complex audit queries
• Take an increasing lead in regular client calls and correspondence
• Undertake soft reviews of the work produced by more junior team members
• Ensure Aztec internal control frameworks are followed in full
• Maintain accurate records on internal systems and Microsoft Excel, working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting
• Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns to the extent relevant
• Act as a mentor to junior staff under the supervision of senior staff
• Support with and/or complete fund administration processes as required
