Job Opportunity: Senior Full Stack PHP Developer

Our client, based in the sustainability sector, is seeking a Senior Full Stack PHP Developer for a permanent position.

In this role, you will be involved in all stages of the software lifecycle, including planning, solution design, coding, testing, and maintaining web applications and APIs.

You will collaborate within an agile team to develop systems that prioritize security, scalability, and performance.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience at a senior level in full-stack web development, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Note: This role requires physical presence in Exeter two days a week; it is not fully remote.

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in web application and API development at a senior level
• Ability to mentor junior team members in the absence of the Technical Lead
• Expertise in microservice architecture
• Preferred: Strong knowledge of PHP Symfony framework
• Proficiency in SQL and MySQL
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Familiarity with design-led and mobile-led development approaches
• Understanding of good UI/UX design principles
• Knowledge of Docker
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to design, develop, test, and maintain complex PHP web applications and APIs
• Focus on security, accessibility, and user experience in front-end development
• Contribute to key technological, architectural, and development decisions
