Job summary

Hopper is seeking a senior full stack engineer to anchor HTS, owning the realtime and voice layer end to end. You will build across React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS. The role emphasizes multi-tenant design, safety, and high-availability in a fast-growing travel fintech platform.

You’ll work with CPaaS like Twilio, live speech pipelines, and a culture of owning production systems, code reviews, and mentoring a lean, senior team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with senior ownership of production systems.
• Hands-on realtime systems experience, including voice applications or low-latency tech.
• Strong frontend in React/TypeScript and backend in Scala or Python.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS) and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to design for multi-tenant scale and maintain observability.

Responsibilities

• Own the voice channel end-to-end, including telephony and CPaaS (Twilio, Amazon Connect).
• Build features across React/TypeScript front ends and Scala/Python back-end services.
• Design scalable, multi-tenant architecture with configuration-driven partnerships.
• Implement safety, auditing, content filtering, and PII redaction points.
• Maintain uptime with observability, alerts, incidents, and SLA tracking.
• Mentor peers, review code and architecture, and drive engineering standards.
