Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to deliver hands-on software across backend microservices, UI applications and databases. You will shape architecture in a Java 21+ microservice ecosystem and push for high-quality, reliable production changes.

You will work with Docker/Kubernetes on GCP, design RESTful APIs, and mentor engineers while aligning delivery with business leaders. A strong production‑oriented mindset is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend and frontend engineering into production
• Experience designing microservices and broader microservice architecture
• Ability to build RESTful APIs and schemas for PostgreSQL databases
• Strong CI/CD practices across build, test and deployment workflows
• Ability to mentor engineers and embed modern software development practices

Responsibilities

• Build and release backend microservices, UI applications and database changes into production for CDD
• Shape architecture and design aligned to a Java 21+ microservice structure
• Accelerate delivery cadence through hands-on contribution and reliable production change
• Set engineering standards and embed modern software development practices
• Partner with business and engineering leadership to translate requirements into deliverables
• Strengthen engineering culture across testing, code review, documentation and continuous improvement
• Support delivery and operational excellence for services running in Docker containers on Kubernetes within GCP
• Build and delivering RESTful APIs to production
• Design schemas and work with PostgreSQL databases
• Develop UI applications using ReactJS across the stack
