Thought Machine is hiring a Software Engineer for London to design and implement features across the stack, including frontend and backend work. The role focuses on security, performance, and delivering high-quality user experiences for banking clients.

You will collaborate with backend and frontend colleagues, translate client requirements into concrete tasks, and contribute to automated testing and robust deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern React and TypeScript codebases.
• Ability to design and build scalable backend and frontend features.
• Experience writing RESTful services and integrating tests into the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end features across the stack (web apps and backend services).
• Ensure solutions emphasize security, performance, scale, and user experience.
• Write automated unit, integration and acceptance tests.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams for coherent feature delivery.
• Manage and debug features from test to production environments.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable tasks and plans.
• Work with cross-functional teams of backend, frontend and full-stack engineers.
