Job summary

Ifs in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessibility-first user interfaces. The role spans front-end and back-end, delivering AI-native features for carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning.

You will drive modular, event-driven API-first components, and mentor engineers while championing best practices in reliability and DevOps.

Qualifications

Broad experience in full stack software engineering across front-end and back-end.
Strong front-end skills with modern frameworks, especially React.
Solid back-end engineering with GoLang or similar languages.
Experience designing and building scalable APIs and cloud-native apps.
Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, automation and incident response.

Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessible UI.
Deliver AI-native features across front-end and back-end for carbon accounting and ESG data.
Evolve platform into modular, event-driven, API-first components.
Provide technical direction and optimize for scalability, performance, and product impact.
Own reliability with telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations and post-incident improvements.
Champion DevOps practices including CI/CD, deployment automation, and monitoring.
