Job summary

MedPal is a growing health-tech business combining technology, AI, and clinical expertise to transform prescription access across the UK. We seek an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong PHP and desirable Python experience to shape the New Health platform and its infrastructure.

You will collaborate with product, marketing, clinical, and UX teams to deliver reliable, high-performing features with real business impact for patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong PHP backend development experience.
• Proven API integration and database-backed app design.
• Experience with Docker and Linux environments.
• Ability to write secure, scalable production systems.
• Python and Flask development experience.
• Experience in health-tech, AI, or data-intensive apps.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) experience.
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience in high-growth technology businesses.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based web applications and backend services.
• Build and optimise integrations with third-party APIs and healthcare systems.
• Develop secure and efficient AI-driven features and workflows.
• Design and maintain MySQL databases and supporting infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and product enhancements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise platform performance.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing platform operations.
