Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd presents an opportunity for a Senior Fuel Cell Engineer to support an advanced technology programme in the UK. The role involves PEM/LTPEM stack and system development, testing and data analysis within a cross‑functional engineering team.

You will work on performance, durability and degradation analysis, drive interface definitions and collaborate with suppliers across development and validation stages in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with PEM/LTPEM fuel cells.
• Experience in stack and system development.
• Strong understanding of PEM electrochemistry and performance.
• Proven experience in fuel cell testing, validation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop PEM/LTPEM fuel cell stacks and systems.
• Conduct fuel cell testing, characterization and data analysis.
• Support stack integration and balance‑of‑plant interfaces.
• Analyze performance, durability, degradation and failure modes.
• Define technical requirements and interfaces.
• Collaborate with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams through development and validation.

Senior Fuel Cell Engineer

ARCA is partnered with a client who is looking for experienced Senior Fuel Cell Engineers to support an advanced technology development programme.

You will support the development, integration and testing of PEM fuel cell stacks and systems, working across the wider engineering team to resolve performance and integration challenges.

The work:

• PEM / LTPEM fuel cell stack and system development
• Fuel cell testing, characterisation and test data analysis
• Stack integration and balance-of-plant interfaces
• Performance, durability, degradation and failure analysis
• Technical requirements and interface definition
• Working with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout development and validation

What they're looking for:

• Strong PEM / LTPEM fuel cell experience
• Fuel cell stack and/or system development experience
• Strong understanding of PEM electrochemistry and performance
• Fuel cell testing and validation
• Experience analysing stack performance, durability and degradation
• Experience within automotive, aerospace, transport or another complex engineering environment
