Job summary

Morgan Stanley in London seeks a hands-on Principal Software Engineer to support intraday covered workflows for Credit Repo and Exotics, and to enhance genesis and structured credit tooling. You will partner with traders, risk and tech teams to deliver robust solutions across trade booking, risk/PnL, settlement and reporting.

The role requires strong coding skills, ownership mindset, and ability to operate in a global fast-moving environment. Hybrid work is supported in London.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development across modern languages (Java, Scala, C++, C#, Python).
• Experience with front-office trading platforms and risk/PnL systems.
• Strong communication, ownership and ability to work in a global team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new ideas and policies in own area.
• Analyze information to create stakeholder summaries and deliverable commitments.
• Own production issues and drive permanent resolutions.
• Improve stability, supportability and performance of tools.
• Deliver hands-on code changes and mentor teams.
