Job summary

Morgan Stanley in London is seeking a hands-on Principal Software Engineer to drive development across Structured Credit & Financing workflows. You will partner with traders, strats and tech teams to deliver robust platforms, address production issues, and raise the bar on stability and delivery through code changes and collaboration.

The role requires deep experience in front-office tech, strong communication, and the ability to operate in a global team handling medium to large-scale

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong communication with tech and business leadership.
• Experience in front-office technology, trading tools or risk systems.
• Bachelor's degree or above in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics.
• Understanding of distributed systems and SOA patterns.
• Experience across full SDLC from requirements to production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new ideas and policies in own area.
• Communicate clearly with traders and stakeholders to ensure reliable delivery.
• Own production issues and drive permanent resolution.
• Improve stability, performance and supportability of key tools.
• Deliver hands-on code changes, not only coordination.
• Help London team strengthen intraday coverage and domain knowledge.
