Job summary

Speechmatics is seeking a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to own end-to-end feature development for our user platform. You’ll shape UX, implement polished interfaces in React, and iterate based on user feedback and analytics.

The role emphasizes a product-minded approach, independent UX decisions, and collaboration with designers, PMs, and backend engineers in a hybrid Cambridge setup.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with a track record of shipping frontend features.
• Product-minded engineering approach and ability to own UX/UI decisions.
• Hands-on experience with iterative development, A/B testing, and feature experimentation.
• Familiarity with user analytics tools such as Mixpanel.
• Experience with UI testing frameworks and frontend best practices.
• Strong collaboration with designers, PMs, and backend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own product features from ideation through delivery and post-launch iteration.
• Build polished, accessible interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Make UX/UI decisions independently in collaboration with designers and PMs.
• Design and run A/B tests to validate product decisions and surface insights.
• Leverage Mixpanel analytics to understand user interactions and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship impactful features.
• Write and maintain robust UI tests and ensure quality in production at scale.
• Conduct user interviews to understand use and adoption drivers.
