Job summary

Thales Group is seeking a firmware engineer to design, verify and deliver FPGA firmware for mission-critical defence and related electronic systems. You will shape reusable firmware architectures and work across disciplines to meet time, cost and quality targets in a structured engineering environment.

You will contribute to requirements, architecture, design and verification while collaborating with internal teams and customers. A SC security clearance is required or pursued prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics or related field (BEng/MEng/EngD/PhD).
• Experience in FPGA firmware design and verification.
• Strong VHDL or SystemVerilog design experience.
• Experience verifying firmware using test benches and simulation tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Architect FPGA firmware designs for reuse and maintainability.
• Design FPGA firmware using VHDL or SystemVerilog.
• Verify firmware using HVL/HDL and test benches.
• Develop and improve verification test benches and methodologies.
• Collaborate with systems, software and hardware engineers to deliver complete electronic systems.
• Contribute to requirements, architecture, design, verification and validation.
