Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead FPGA development work packages in VHDL and related design activities on site in South Wales. The role requires eligibility for UK SC clearance and delivers across architecture, implementation, verification and technical support.

You will own FPGA design from requirements through to integration, applying established development methodologies and working in a collaborative, fast-paced hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Expertise in FPGA design and development using VHDL.
• Ability to capture requirements, define work packages and estimate delivery effort.
• Proficiency with FPGA simulation and synthesis tools.
• Recent FPGA design experience with Altera, Microsemi or Xilinx devices.
• Strong understanding of FPGA development methodologies and engineering processes.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities and provide progress updates.
• Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain UK SC Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer and product requirements, define FPGA solutions, work packages and delivery estimates.
• Produce FPGA architectural and detailed designs with supporting documentation.
• Develop and implement FPGA designs using VHDL.
• Perform FPGA simulation, verification and validation against requirements.
• Integrate FPGA designs into target hardware platforms.
• Provide technical support throughout development and integration lifecycle.
• Review and oversee engineering work for team delivery and quality.
• Contribute to maintenance and continuous improvement of FPGA processes.
• Monitor progress and report against cost, time and quality objectives.
