Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to deliver FPGA development work, taking ownership from requirements through to verification and integration. The role requires SC clearance eligibility and is onsite in South Wales, offering a rate of £85 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in FPGA design and development using VHDL.
• Proficiency with at least one FPGA simulation tool and one synthesis tool.
• Recent FPGA design experience with devices from Altera, Microsemi or Xilinx.
• Experience capturing and analysing requirements, defining work packages and estimating delivery effort.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and provide regular progress updates.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer and product requirements, defining FPGA solutions, work packages and delivery estimates.
• Produce FPGA architectural designs, detailed designs and supporting technical documentation.
• Develop and implement FPGA designs using VHDL.
• Perform FPGA simulation, verification and validation against specified requirements.
• Integrate FPGA designs into target hardware platforms.
• Provide technical support throughout the development and integration lifecycle.
• Review and oversee engineering work where leading a team, ensuring quality and delivery standards.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of FPGA development processes and procedures.
• Monitor progress and report against agreed cost, time and quality objectives.
