Qualifications

• This role requires strong FP&A experience with budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling is essential.
• Understanding accrual accounting, cash flow and balance sheet drivers is important.
• Ability to analyse large datasets and translate into commercial insight.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Ascent Recruitment is pleased to support a well-established and growing financial services business in Manchester City Centre that is looking to appoint a Senior FP&A Accountant.

This is a high-visibility role supporting senior leadership, with responsibility for financial modelling, long-range planning, and business performance analysis.

The role will work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and the leadership team, helping to generate insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-range financial planning process
• Build, maintain, and enhance financial models
• Translate commercial drivers into clear financial forecasts and analysis
• Deliver scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions
• Analyse performance across entities, business lines and P&L segments
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership and support board reporting
• Support strategic initiatives, including growth programmes and expansion projects
• Continuously improve FP&A processes, forecasting accuracy and financial reporting tools

Key Qualifications / Skills

• Strong FP&A experience with involvement in budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles
• Strong Excel and financial modelling capability (three-statement modelling preferred)
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, cash flow and balance sheet drivers
• Ability to analyse large datasets and turn them into commercial insight
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
