Job summary

Modis International Ltd is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst in Newcastle to join the Group Finance team. The role covers budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and investment planning, with exposure to senior finance and operational stakeholders in a complex, global organisation.

You will help understand performance, challenge assumptions and drive better financial decisions through robust modelling and insightful reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with FP&A/commerce finance experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning skills.
• Excellent variance analysis and management reporting capability.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning across the organisation.
• Produce and analyse monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
• Investigate variances, identify drivers and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Support financial planning across Opex and Capex expenditure.
• Review investment proposals and challenge business-case assumptions.
• Build and maintain financial models to aid planning and decision-making.
• Consolidate financial information from different areas to provide management insight.
• Produce dashboards and reports for senior finance and operations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Property, Infrastructure and Finance teams.
• Support ad-hoc commercial analysis and strategic finance projects.

Are you a qualified finance professional looking for a broader FP&A role with real exposure to planning, performance and investment decisions?

I am working with a complex global organisation looking for an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to join its Group Finance team.

This is a diverse role covering budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and investment planning, with the opportunity to work closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders across a complex and growing organisation.

You’ll play a key role in helping the business understand performance, challenge assumptions and make better financial decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning across the organisation.
• Producing and analysing monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
• Investigating variances, identifying key drivers and highlighting emerging risks and opportunities.
• Supporting financial planning across both Opex and Capex expenditure.
• Reviewing investment proposals and challenging assumptions behind business cases.
• Building and maintaining financial models to support planning and decision-making.
• Consolidating financial information from different areas of the organisation and turning it into clear management insight.
• Producing dashboards, reports and analysis for senior finance and operational stakeholders.
• Working closely with teams across Operations, Procurement, Property, Infrastructure and wider Finance.
• Supporting ad-hoc commercial analysis and strategic finance projects.
• Helping improve the quality, consistency and accuracy of forecasting and financial information.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or finance business partnering.

You should be comfortable working with complex financial information, understanding what is driving performance and confidently challenging stakeholders where required.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Excellent variance analysis and management reporting capability.
• A strong accounting background and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience working with senior finance and operational stakeholders.
• The confidence to challenge assumptions and investigate financial performance.
• Experience analysing business cases, investment decisions or Capex would be beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• A commercial mindset and the ability to turn financial analysis into practical recommendations.
