Job summary

Luxoft in United Kingdom seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to strengthen security, release reliability, and resilience of banking apps. You will directly engage with development teams, implement critical changes, and enable durable engineering practices.

Responsibilities include upgrading runtimes, modernizing Spring and legacy middleware, containerizing with Docker, deploying to OpenShift, and building automated test suites within CI/CD. Strong client-facing communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java/JVM and Spring, actively writing production code.
• Strong TypeScript skills valued for Node.js projects; modern Java apps familiarity.
• Experience with TDD, automated tests, and CI/CD; secure coding and remediation.
• Experience upgrading runtimes, containers, and Linux environments; observability basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy tech.
• Assess code, dependencies, CI/CD, observability, and deployment risks.
• Write, debug, and review production code and configurations.
• Define modernization plans with priorities, risks, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop unit/integration tests and improve test coverage.
• Modernize legacy applications, containerize, and enable OpenShift deployments.
