Vercel Inc. is seeking a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer to work with our Professional Services team. You will lead complex Next.js migrations, architect high-performance AI-powered applications, and build production agents within customer environments.

This role emphasizes autonomy, strategic customer engagement, and delivering tangible business value. You will report to the Global Manager of Forward Deployed Engineering.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years in a customer-facing technical role.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive plans.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
• Experience with AI instrumentation and agentic workflows.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Build production AI solutions with eve framework and AI SDK.
• Lead frontend migrations and modernize legacy apps to Next.js.
• Conduct code audits and optimize website performance.
• Architect high-performance Next.js apps using App Router and ISR.
• Embed with strategic customers to ship TS code live.
• Drive enablement through workshops and pair programming.
• Navigate complex enterprises and translate capabilities into ROI.
• Contribute to service evolution by sharing patterns.
