Job summary

IFS is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer, Platform. You will embed with product teams and customer organisations to understand real problems, design durable AI-enabled solutions, and own outcomes.

This high-agency senior role focuses on developer velocity, platform adoption, and building patterns and tooling that scale across teams. You will lead discovery, design event-driven architectures, and partner with NGA and Architecture teams to drive the Internal Developer Platform, shaping what gets

Qualifications

5+ years of software development experience across backend and frontend.
Backend: Go; Frontend: React with Next.js.
Experience with Kafka/RedPanda messaging and PostgreSQL data stores.
Strong cloud-native skills: Kubernetes, containers, GitOps, IaC.
Proven ability to ship production AI-enabled platforms and work with platform teams.

Responsibilities

Embed directly with product teams and customer engineering organisations to maximise developer velocity.
Lead technical discovery and identify real bottlenecks, not just symptoms.
Design and build production-grade solutions on the IFS Cloud platform (workflows, integrations, event-driven patterns, data pipelines).
Build tooling and reference implementations to accelerate adoption of Kairos and Nexus.
