Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection seeks a Senior Formulation Development Chemist to lead formulation activities within the Formulation Development Department. You will independently define workplans, deliver technical data, and collaborate with multiple functions to advance products to market.

You will contribute to IP generation, support marketed formulations, and mentor junior staff while continuing to expand your technical expertise in formulation science.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline; PhD or equivalent industrial experience in a formulation-based role.
• Basic knowledge of project management.
• Hands-on lab experience with safe, independent work practices.
• Basic knowledge of data science for experimental design and data analysis.
• Experience in developing formulations for commercial applications with understanding of development trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation scientist on technical projects to bring formulated products to market.
• Define formulation workplans and deliver and validate own data.
• Interact with technical and non-technical functions across the organization.
• Identify opportunities to generate IP in projects.
• Provide technical support for marketed formulated products.
• Train colleagues and supervise junior staff when required.
• Develop broad technical knowledge of experimental techniques and stay updated in the field.
