Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in the UK is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Sizewell C civil works alliance. You will supervise site activities, manage earthworks, drainage and reinforced concrete tasks, and ensure works are delivered on time and to the required quality.

Role requires CSCS card, SMSTS, and a track record of safe, compliant delivery. You’ll work a 42-hour week and join a major infrastructure programme delivering long-term low-carbon energy.

Qualifications

• Supervision of site activities using internal and supply chain partners.
• Setting people to work and coordinating on site.
• Monitoring works to ensure compliance with design and method statements.
• Ensuring works align with safe systems of work and permits.
• Working within a culture of Zero Harm.
• Report all observations and participate in early contractor involvement meetings.
• CSCS card – relevant level.
• SMSTS qualification.
• 42 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Deliver high profile earthworks, drainage and concrete construction ensuring customer expectations are met.
• Take ownership of works from start to finish, including handover.
• Work to tight deadlines with ability to prioritise and multi-task.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.

We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.

What you'll be doing

The role is responsible for the delivery of high profile projects involving earthworks, deep drainage and reinforced concrete construction, to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded and enhanced experience for all involved in the scheme. Solution orientated individual, with ability to analyse risks and benefits of options to resolve identified issues. Proven experience of working to tight deadlines with an ability to prioritise and multi-task.

Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works.
