Job summary

AmcoGiffen is seeking a Supervisor/General Foreman to lead groundworks and highway works across Portishead, Pill and Bristol areas in the Western region. You will work with the Site Agent to ensure safe, on-time delivery within live environments and complex civils projects.

You will manage multiple fronts, coordinate utility diversions with service providers, and drive high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance while leading direct labour and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Supervisor or General Foreman within a civil engineering environment.
• Strong background in groundworks and highway projects.
• Experience working with utility companies and diversionary works.
• Experience operating within traffic management environments.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple work fronts effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and managing groundworks and highway works on site.
• Coordinating activities within traffic management environments.
• Managing and overseeing utility diversion works in conjunction with service providers.
• Ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and in line with design specifications.
• Leading and motivating site teams, including direct labour and subcontractors.
• Implementing and maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance.
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates to the Site Agent.
• Managing trade packages and ensuring effective coordination between disciplines.
• Maintaining accurate site records including diaries, labour and plant returns.
• Driving a 'right first time' and continuous improvement culture across site operations.
