Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a General Foreman to join our Metro Team, delivering highways and bridge projects in the Bristol region, including Portishead, Pill and surrounding areas.

You will supervise groundworks, coordinate traffic management, and manage utility diversions, ensuring safe, on-time delivery in line with design specs. The role requires proven civil engineering supervision experience and required certifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Supervisor or General Foreman within civil engineering.
• Strong background in groundworks and highway projects.
• Experience with utility companies and diversionary works.
• Experience operating within traffic management environments.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification and CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and managing groundworks and highway works on site.
• Coordinating activities within traffic management environments.
• Managing and overseeing utility diversion works in conjunction with service providers.
• Ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and in line with design specifications.
• Leading and motivating site teams, including direct labour and subcontractors.
• Implementing and maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance.
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates to the Site Agent.
• Managing trade packages and ensuring effective coordination between disciplines.
• Maintaining accurate site records including diaries, labour and plant returns.
• Driving a "right first time" and continuous improvement culture across site operations.

An exciting opportunity is available for a General Foreman to join our clients Metro Team working on a portfolio of highways and bridge projects in and around the Bristol region.

You will be working within a fast paced civil engineering team delivering a wide range of infrastructure works.

The Role

Working alongside the Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient delivery of works across a package of projects in the Portishead, Pill and Bristol areas.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and managing groundworks and highway works on site
• Coordinating activities within traffic management environments
