Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Hydraulic / Flood Risk Modellers to support a national portfolio of flood risk work across government, water, transport and energy sectors.

You will provide technical leadership for fluvial and pluvial modelling, coordinate studies, review models, and prepare clear reports and outputs. The role offers hybrid working with opportunities to influence national modelling approaches and develop your expertise within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling.
• Experience leading modelling teams and reviewing models for statutory bodies.
• Commercial awareness with project management and bid support.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in infrastructure, local authority or national government projects.
• Strong communication skills and client relationship building.
• Chartered status or near achievement in a relevant body.
• GIS/ FCERM studies and UK flood estimation knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for fluvial and pluvial modelling using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or Infoworks ICM.
• Coordinate and manage flood modelling studies and develop appropriate modelling approaches.
• Review hydraulic models and ensure technical quality.
• Prepare clear technical reports, presentations and project deliverables.
• Lead or support proposal writing, opportunity identification and business development.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and other stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
