Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an Engineering Officer (Flood Prevention) to join the Flood Prevention Team in Hamilton. The role focuses on protecting communities and infrastructure from flood risk, with responsibilities across assessment, drainage management, and project delivery.

• Knowledge of Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009 and related guidance.
• Experience delivering flood prevention and water management projects.

• Carry out flood risk assessments and manage drainage and watercourses.
• Develop and deliver flood prevention projects and strategy.
• Prepare funding applications and support implementation of flood risk policies.
• Supervise team activities and monitor contracts and finances.
