Job summary

Strata Consulting Limited, a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking a Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer to join its Berkhamsted team. You will work on flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and detailed design for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK.

You will collaborate with clients, local authorities and planning consultants, providing practical engineering solutions and input into masterplans.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is essential.
• Strong knowledge of flood risk and drainage principles (NPPF, CIRIA SuDS, Building Regulations).
• Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports for planning applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies for planning applications.
• Undertake detailed design of surface water and foul drainage schemes.
• Collaborate with clients, local authorities, planning consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide practical technical advice on flood risk and drainage for masterplans and sites.
• Prepare fee proposals, manage deliverables and support delivery from planning to detailed design.
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to growth of the team's flood risk and drainage capabilities.
