Job summary

Pell Frischmann is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join the Flood and Water Management team across the UK. You will support delivery of flood alleviation, reservoir and drainage projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to provide sustainable solutions against climate change and increasing flood risk.

You will contribute from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, mentoring juniors and supporting client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in planning, design or delivery of flood risk, water management or reservoir projects.
• Knowledge of UK design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience producing engineering calculations, reports and designs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design of flood risk management and water infrastructure projects.
• Develop solutions for reservoir storage, balancing ponds, attenuation systems and flood alleviation schemes.
• Undertake hydraulic and hydrological assessments to inform engineering design.
• Design earthworks, embankments, spillways and associated civil infrastructure.
• Deliver surface water and drainage strategies, including SuDS.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, design packages and specifications.
• Support reservoir safety inspections and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage project delivery, budgets, programmes and resources where appropriate.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates.
• Contribute to business development activities and client relationships.
