Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Senior First Line Manager for our Avonmouth Cross Dock Centre. You will lead Team Leaders and warehouse colleagues, driving KPI performance, quality, safety and service in a fast-paced distribution environment.

You will deputise for the CDC Manager as required, shaping a positive culture and continuous improvement. This is a site-based, full-time role with early start hours in Avonmouth.

• Support the CDC Manager and Site Leadership Team to hit objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Take responsibility for performance and budget when the CDC Manager is absent.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior First Line Manager to join our Cross Dock Centre in Avonmouth. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a fast-paced warehouse and distribution operation.

Reporting to the CDC Manager, you will lead Team Leaders and warehouse colleagues to achieve productivity, quality, safety, and service targets. You will play a vital role in fostering a positive working environment, championing operational excellence, and supporting the continuous development of your team. You will also deputise for the CDC Manager when required, taking responsibility for site operations and performance.

This is a site-based role and is not suitable for remote working.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm

Flexibility is required to support business needs, including occasional overtime, weekends, and Bank Holidays where necessary.

• Support the CDC Manager and Site Leadership Team in achieving departmental and company objectives.

• Ensure compliance with all security, audit, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Take full responsibility for operational performance and budgetary control in the absence of the CDC Manager.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain environment.
• Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced operational setting.

Desirable

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as: CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) CLA (Certified Logistics Associate) Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Experience supporting site operations at management level.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and operational best practice.
