Job summary

MWI Animal Health is recruiting a Fleet Transport Manager for our Coatbridge Service Centre. You will lead a large team of drivers and Driver Team Managers, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transport across the network.

Your role requires strategic oversight, on-call weekend duties, and travel to link points as needed. You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets and KPIs, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, health-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport operations within fast-paced distribution/logistics/delivery.
• Proven leadership managing large teams including drivers and agency staff.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, operator licence requirements, and health and safety standards.
• Ability to manage budgets, labour costs, service performance and KPIs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across levels.
• CPC qualification is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring service, productivity, safety and compliance KPIs.
• Provide leadership and direction to Driver Team Managers, drivers and agency colleagues.
• Ensure health and safety standards are implemented and maintained per policies and legislation.
• Manage a temperature-controlled fleet of vans and LGVs, ensuring compliance.
• Oversee safe, secure and compliant movement of materials, products and temperature-sensitive shipments.
• Manage transport budgets, labour costs, fleet utilisation, route optimisation and efficiencies.
• Develop succession plans, performance management, and training for team growth.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities with internal stakeholders and customers.
