Job summary

AvantiGas is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager based at Head Office in Staveley, Chesterfield, with UK travel required, to own our fleet, compliance and training activities. You will ensure vehicles are safe, compliant, and on the road for customers.

You will lead the Transport Manager across all Operating Licences, setting standards, executing training plans, and liaising with regulators while managing fleet budgets and supplier relationships across our Logistics & Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as lead Transport Manager with CPC qualification.
• Strong knowledge of licence requirements and EU/GB drivers' hours.
• Experience delivering fleet cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead Transport Manager across all AvantiGas Operating Licences, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Own compliance with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive, tachograph and ADR/CDG for DG carriage.
• Liaise with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner and other regulators; manage Public Inquiry risk.
• Oversee safe and compliant fleet maintenance, including annual fleet budget design and delivery.
• Lead improvements in telematics; coach drivers on harsh braking, MPG, idling and speeding.
• Manage disposal of fleet vehicles with auditable records.
• Select and manage suppliers; work with Procurement on fleet specs and workshops.
• Provide support to 3PL operations, including cost scrutiny and VOR cases.
• Oversee planning and execution of all training requirements across teams.
