Job summary

Virgin Media O2 is seeking an experienced network professional to join the Core Infrastructure Support team as a 3rd line specialist. You will own Fixed Access and Wholesale Access technologies, working hands-on with XGS-PON, DOCSIS/CCAP, EVPN, and NNIs to keep services performing at their best.

You’ll balance BAU with shaping new platforms, guiding junior staff, and collaborating across Data Centre, Core, and ISP Systems Support to deliver end-to-end support for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in carrier/enterprise network support.
• Strong knowledge of ISIS, MPLS, SR MPLS, EVPN, IPv6.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching and OSI.
• Proven ability to lead during major incidents.
• Familiar with monitoring and OSS tools.
• Ability to interpret real-time telemetry and alarms.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert 3rd line support for core platforms.
• Own Fixed Access and Wholesale Access technologies.
• Lead and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with Data Centre, Core, ISP Systems Support.
• Drive upgrades and new platform capabilities.
