Job summary

Copello Global is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for a six-month Inside IR35 contract in Whiteley, requiringActive SC and on-site presence three days per week. You will design, implement and test FPGA components for SDR devices, while developing embedded software drivers and RTL verification.

The role emphasizes documentation, cross-team collaboration, and proactive problem-solving on a portfolio of wireless projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics/engineering or related field.
• Strong C/C++ and Linux proficiency.
• Experience with FPGA verification and RTL testbenches.
• Knowledge of embedded software architecture and driver development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA firmware using VHDL.
• Develop embedded software and hardware drivers in C/C++.

• Produce technical documentation, requirements and designs.

Responsible for embedded product development to deliver world-class wireless products across a portfolio of projects. The role includes designing, implementing, and testing FPGA components for use in Software Defined Radio (SDR) devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA firmware using VHDL.
• Develop embedded software and hardware drivers in C/C++.
• Create and maintain RTL testbenches and support verification activities.
• Produce technical documentation, requirements, and interface designs.
• Research and evaluate new technologies.
• Support product introduction, customer validation, and production testing.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, including Sales where required.
• Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Linux.
• Experience with FPGA verification and RTL testbenches.
• Understanding of embedded software architecture and driver development.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
