Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Principal Fire Safety Engineer to lead fire engineering design and risk assessment across a diverse portfolio, including nuclear, residential and commercial sectors.

You will develop fire strategies, perform hazard analyses and contribute to regulatory discussions while mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, safety-focused consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing fire safety strategies and conducting risk analyses across complex projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire engineering principles, modelling and calculations.
• Ability to produce clear, detailed technical documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire strategies and conduct hazard analysis for multi-sector projects, including nuclear and large buildings.
• Lead client engagement, meetings and site visits to assess conditions and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and review technical reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with standards.
• Manage project tasks, delegate work to junior staff and maintain timely communication with clients.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies to meet licensing and safety requirements.
