Job summary

Hunter Dunning is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer in Colchester, Essex, offering hybrid and remote options. Lead technical delivery, develop fire strategies, mentor engineers, and collaborate with clients, design teams and approving authorities.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Fire Engineering, Chartered Engineer status or working towards it, 7+ years of consultancy experience, and strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fire Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of fire engineering consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Experience preparing fire strategies and technical documentation.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Experience on commercial, residential, healthcare and education projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery on projects and coordinate with clients, design teams and approving authorities.
• Prepare fire strategies and associated technical documentation.
• Mentor engineers and develop junior staff.
