Job summary

Search People is seeking a Senior Fire Risk Assessor to work from home with travel to client sites across the North and North West of England. You will lead fire risk assessments, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide expert interpretation of fire safety standards to a diverse client base.

The role requires experience in fire risk assessments and audits, preferably in the care sector, with qualifications such as NEBOSH NGC3 and accreditation from FPA/IFE or Institute of Fire Engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting fire risk assessments and writing risk assessment reports.
• Experience in fire safety audits, preferably in the care sector.
• Solid understanding of UK fire safety legislation and standards (AD B, BS9999/BS9991/BS7974).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out site visits to conduct Fire Risk Assessments
• Developing Fire Risk Assessment reports and identifying hazards
• Interpreting and applying fire safety documents based on risk
• Understanding main UK fire safety legislation (AD B, BS9999, BS9991, BS7974)
• Evaluating passive fire protection measures and fire stopping methods

Job description

Location Based from home with travel to client sites within your region covering the North and North West of England.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out site visits when needed for conducting Fire Risk Assessments
• Development of Fire Risk Assessment reports and Hazard Identification
• Risk Based Interpretation and Application of these fire safety documents
• Assessment and understanding of the main British fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings, such as Approved Document B (AD B), BS9999, BS9991, BS7974.
• Evaluate passive fire protection arrangements in a wide range of buildings, together with identifying and confirming appropriate methods for applying fire stopping to service penetrations through compartment walls and ceilings.
• Conducting fire safety management audits.
• Presenting findings arising from fire risk assessments and/or fire safety management audits to clients.

Experience

• Experienced in conducting fire risk assessments, fire safety audits and writing fire risk assessment reports.
• Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments within the care sector preferred
• Recognisable and professional qualifications in fire safety management and fire safety surveying and risk assessing
• A good understanding of the relevant fire safety legislation, fire behavior, the behavior of people in fire, and the practical application of the principles of fire safety.

Qualifications

• Fire Risk Assessors and/or Auditors qualifications by a professional institution, such as FPA, IFE etc.
• Recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institute of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk
• NEBOSH NGC3 Fire Risk Assessment qualifications (Or equivalent)
