Job summary

purobuild is seeking an experienced Head of Fire Engineering to lead its fire engineering function, drive technical excellence, and support business growth across a diverse built-environment portfolio.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will manage the fire engineering line, set technical strategy, ensure compliance with UK building regulations, mentor staff, and develop strong client relationships while pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in fire engineering or related discipline.
• Senior management or departmental leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of fire strategies and performance-based design.
• Solid understanding of UK building regulations and fire safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor the fire engineering team to deliver technically excellent outcomes.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership across a portfolio of fire engineering projects.
• Oversee preparation and review of fire strategies and assessments.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and industry standards.
• Act as senior technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development through proposals and opportunities.
