Job summary

Bimplus, a growing multidisciplinary engineering and sustainability consultancy, is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Fire Engineer to join its fire engineering division and lead challenging projects across commercial, residential, industrial and data centre sectors. The role offers remote UK-based working, career progression and Chartership support.

You will deliver fire engineering solutions, prepare fire strategies and statements, conduct occupancy calculations, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 4–10 years experience within a Fire Engineering Consultancy.
• Experience producing Fire Strategies independently.
• Strong knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, Building Regulations and Fire Safety guidance.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive and commercially aware approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire engineering solutions across planning, design and construction.
• Prepare Fire Strategy Reports for various building types.
• Produce Fire Statements to support planning applications.
• Undertake means of escape assessments and occupancy calculations.
• Develop compartmentation and passive fire protection strategies.
• Advise on smoke control, firefighting access and evacuation strategies.
• Support compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards.
• Liaise with architects, developers, contractors and Building Control.
• Attend client and design team meetings.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
