Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Senior Fire Engineer to join a growing Fire Engineering division. You will lead fire strategies for diverse developments, mentor engineers and influence major projects across the UK. Flexible hybrid working and a strong benefits package accompany the role.

You will apply expertise in fire engineering, collaborate with architects and clients, and ensure compliance with UK fire legislation across design, construction and completion stages.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards Chartership).
• Experience producing fire strategies across a range of building types.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire legislation and guidance.
• Experience using FDS, PyroSim, Pathfinder or similar modelling software.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of fire engineering strategies across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and mixed-use developments.
• Provide technical guidance throughout design, construction and project completion.
• Produce and review fire strategies, performance-based solutions and engineering reports.
• Support CFD, smoke modelling and evacuation modelling alongside specialist teams.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and relevant fire engineering standards.
• Act as technical lead on complex and high-value projects.
• Work closely with architects, developers, contractors, clients and approval authorities.
• Support business development, bid submissions and client presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop the next generation of fire engineering professionals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the development of fire engineering strategies across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and mixed-use developments.

What We're Looking For
