Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking a Senior Fire & Security Engineer to cover Reading and surrounding areas. The role combines hands-on installation, commissioning, servicing and fault finding across fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and work with customers to ensure reliable, compliant security solutions. A strong electrical background and full UK driving licence are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm and Security systems.
• Experience with service, maintenance, installation and/or commissioning.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good electrical knowledge.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Based within a reasonable travelling distance of Reading.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, maintain and fault-find across Fire Alarm systems, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, emergency lighting and integrated systems.
• Provide technical support to other engineers and assist with complex fault diagnosis.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to develop their skills.

Are you an experienced Fire & Security Engineer looking for your next step?

We are recruiting for a Senior Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established and growing Fire & Security business covering Reading and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to remain technically hands-on while taking on additional responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

A strong electrical background or electrical bias would be particularly advantageous.

The Role

You will carry out a mixture of installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding across:

• Fire Alarm Systems
• CCTV
• Access Control
• Intruder Alarms
• Emergency Lighting
• Integrated Security Systems

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical support to other engineers, assist with complex fault diagnosis and help develop junior engineers through coaching and mentoring.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer
• Strong knowledge across Fire Alarm and Security systems
• Experience with service, maintenance, installation and/or commissioning
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good electrical knowledge
• Confidence providing technical guidance to other engineers
• Previous mentoring or supervisory experience advantageous
