Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking a Senior Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established team covering Reading and surrounding areas. The role combines hands-on installation, commissioning, servicing and fault finding with mentoring of junior engineers and technical support to the team.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Fire Alarm and Security systems, plus a solid electrical background and a Full UK driving licence. Travel within a reasonable distance of Reading is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer.
• Strong knowledge across Fire Alarm and Security systems.
• Experience with service, maintenance, installation and/or commissioning.
• Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good electrical knowledge.
• Confidence providing technical guidance to other engineers.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Based within a reasonable travelling distance of Reading.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding across CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms and Integrated Security Systems.
• Provide technical support to other engineers and assist with complex fault diagnosis.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers through coaching and guidance.
• Work as a senior member of the team, supporting delivery across multiple sites in Reading and surrounding areas.

Are you an experienced Fire & Security Engineer looking for your next step?

We are recruiting for a Senior Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established and growing Fire & Security business covering Reading and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to remain technically hands‑on while taking on additional responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

A strong electrical background or electrical bias would be particularly advantageous.

The Role

You will carry out a mixture of installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding across:

• CCTV
• Access Control
• Intruder Alarms
• Integrated Security Systems

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical support to other engineers, assist with complex fault diagnosis and help develop junior engineers through coaching and mentoring.

What We're Looking For
