# Senior FinOps AnalystSkiptonFinOps50k – 100k31/07/2026Full-timeHybridFavoriteAccess Job## Job Description## About the RoleThis is a permanent Senior FinOps Analyst role, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a salary of £50,850 per annum. The closing date for applications is Sunday, 16 August 2026. The role follows a hybrid pattern, with three days a week in the Skipton office and two days working from home.You will be responsible for building and embedding FinOps capability across Skipton’s technology estate. The aim is to improve cloud spend transparency, strengthen financial accountability, and support better technology investment decisions.Working within the Technology team, you will act as the FinOps subject matter expert and partner with colleagues across Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Architecture. The role is focused on turning cloud and financial data into clear insight that helps the organisation understand where money is being spent, why it is being spent, and how to maximise value.## Key Responsibilities– Establish and lead FinOps governance, processes, and reporting standards. – Improve cloud cost transparency across Microsoft Azure, including spend, usage trends, and cost drivers. – Develop showback and chargeback models to embed financial accountability across technology teams. – Partner with Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Architecture to apply FinOps best practice in decision-making. – Identify and deliver cloud cost optimisation opportunities while balancing performance, resilience, and business value. – Build forecasting, budgeting, and financial models to improve predictability and support investment decisions. – Create cloud reporting, dashboards, and KPIs, and lead financial reviews for senior stakeholders.## Required Skills– Proven experience in a FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or similar role. – Experience implementing FinOps practices in Azure or multi-cloud environments. – Strong understanding of FinOps principles, including cost optimisation, forecasting, governance, and financial accountability. – Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills. – Ability to translate data into business outcomes. – Experience working collaboratively with Technology, Finance, and Procurement teams. – Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. – Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. – High attention to detail. – Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.## Preferred Skills– FinOps Certified Practitioner, or an equivalent certification. – Experience using cloud cost management tools such as IBM Apptio or Cloudability. – Knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM) principles. – Experience in Financial Services or another regulated industry. – Understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure, and technology architecture.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies### Cloud Providers – Microsoft Azure – Multi-cloud environments### FinOps Platforms – IBM Apptio – Cloudability### Frameworks & Methodologies – FinOps – Technology Business Management (TBM)Management## FinOps Responsibilities– Establish FinOps governance, processes, and reporting across the technology estate. – Improve visibility of cloud spend, usage trends, and cost drivers. – Build showback and chargeback models. – Support cost accountability across technology teams. – Identify cloud cost optimisation opportunities. – Develop forecasting, budgeting, and financial models. – Produce dashboards, KPIs, and financial review materials for senior stakeholders.## Benefits– Annual discretionary bonus – 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to 30 days – Employer pension contribution matched up to 10% per annum – Colleague mortgages and discounted access to Skipton products and services – Flexible working – Private medical insurance – Health and wellbeing app – Volunteering opportunities – Cycle-to-work scheme – Discounted gym memberships – Home and Tech voucher for use at Currys and IKEA## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role offers the opportunity to build and lead FinOps capability across a large technology estate.
