Job summary

Mettler Toledo AG is seeking a Senior Finance Controller to lead the UK accounting and reporting function from Leicester. You will manage a team of finance professionals and work with operational stakeholders and global Shared Service Centres.

In this role you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of UK and group reporting under UK GAAP and US GAAP, while driving continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong UK GAAP and US GAAP understanding.
• Experience leading finance teams and coordinating with global shared services.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and ensure statutory compliance.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading the UK finance accounting and reporting function, managing a team of finance professionals and working closely with operational stakeholders and global Shared Service Centres. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to combine technical accounting expertise with people leadership and business partnering within a dynamic multinational organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial reporting while driving continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the financial reporting and accounting activities for the UK organisation.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and corporate requirements.
• Partner with the Head of Finance and key stakeholders to provide financial insight and support informed business decision-making.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Build effective working relationships with global Shared Service Centres to ensure high-quality accounting support and service delivery.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls, and reporting practices.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, corporate policies, and SOX regulations.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisers, and HMRC.
• Prepare and oversee statutory accounts, tax packs, VAT returns, and regulatory submissions.
• Support working capital optimisation, with particular focus on accounts receivable performance.
