Job summary

A UK financial institution seeks a technically strong accountant to lead central reporting. This is not a maintenance role; you will influence how the function is shaped, working with senior finance leadership and external auditors on complex accounting issues across multi‑jurisdiction groups.

We are looking for a chartered accountant with 5+ years post‑qualification experience, consolidation and audit delivery, IFRS 9 and IFRS 2 expertise, and strong communication skills to explain judgements

Qualifications

Chartered accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience in complex multi-jurisdiction financial services groups.
Experience driving consolidation and audits to completion — banking sector experience preferred.
Fluency in IFRS 9 and IFRS 2 through practical application; IFRS 15 experience helpful in tech or subscription-revenue contexts.
Ability to write clearly for senior, non-technical audiences and stand your ground when auditors push back on judgement calls.
Bonus points for experience through listing or IPO processes.

Responsibilities

Shape the central reporting function in partnership with senior finance leadership and external auditors.
Lead consolidation across multiple trading entities and overseas branches.
Tackle genuinely complex accounting issues and tighten reporting standards for growth.
Communicate judgements persuasively to non-technical stakeholders and defend positions in audits.
