Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking an experienced Financial Controls professional to strengthen the organization’s ICFR and regulatory compliance framework. The role offers exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Accounting and Finance.

Ideal candidates will have 3-5+ years in internal or external audit, strong knowledge of MAR/SOX, and a background in financial controls, with CPA or CIA a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Financial Controls, SOX/MAR Compliance, Risk Advisory, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of ICFR including control design, testing, documentation, remediation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), including control documentation, testing, assessment, and ongoing improvements.
• Support MAR and SOX-related compliance activities, including control evaluations, documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Evaluate existing financial processes and controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to strengthen the control environment.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure effective control design and operating effectiveness.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for financial controls, advising on frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Research and assess regulatory changes and complex transactions for potential impacts on reporting and controls.
• Support financial and regulatory reporting activities, including analysis and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve control efficiency.
